Nestled on the slopes of Mt. Elgon, where Uganda and Kenya share a border, the region emerges as an ideal haven for cultivating high-quality specialty coffee. Revered by locals who believe God resides on this majestic peak, the bountiful gardens on the mountainside flourish with divine rainfall, nurturing exceptional coffee production. Mountain Harvest, situated high on Mount Elgon's slopes, collaborates with farmers, aiming to craft outstanding coffee and elevate the quality of life for farming communities. Sourced from approximately 850 smallholding farms, this organic coffee embodies a commitment to sustainability, certified by the Rainforest Alliance.
Grown at 1,600-2,200 meters in altitude, these beans, traditionally washed and patio-dried, yield a decadent, earthy flavor. Embracing a rich dark and zesty aroma, this coffee, with certified sustainability practices, unfolds a captivating narrative of dedication to both people and nature. Cupping notes reveal a deep, earthy mouthfeel, a light body, and a rich flavor profile with prominent milk chocolate and citrus notes. As demanded by our patrons, we take care extra to bring out the inherent flavors of this coffee. We make sure to stop our roasting when the required profile is reached, which happens somewhere in the region of medium to light. Explore the allure of Mt. Elgon coffee—a symphony of flavor and sustainability, meticulously cultivated on the slopes where divine and earthly elements converge.
