Sidamo region is considered the birthplace of coffee. In fact, the world's Arabica plantation can all be traced back to Ethiopia. Sidamo region is made up of fertile highlands that get plenty of rainfall and sunlight. Combined with its rich volcanic soil and consistent weather conditions make it an ideal place for growing coffee. Ethiopian coffee culture is so strong that almost 50% of the coffee grown is consumed locally.
Ethiopian coffee is grown using traditional methods by cooperatives of smallholder farms. Coffee beans are collected at a single station, where they are processed and graded accordingly. Washed process is commonly used where the beans are removed from the cherries and then dried separately. Unlike the dry method, washed processed beans have zero flavors of the cherry.
Sidamo coffee is famous for its citrus lemon aroma and tea-like flavor profile. When brewed through a V60 filter, its delicate and complex flavours linger on your tongue.
Our coffee selection is roasted medium light to bring out its origin flavours.
