Sul de Minas, BRAZIL | 87+
Sul de Minas, the largest region for Arabica coffees in Brazil, contributes 30% of the country's total Arabica production. Accessible through the bustling Port of Santos, this region is a coffee haven. Our Sul de Minas blend, sourced from medium to good beans (MTGB), is revered for its chocolatey, round flavor. Notably stable, balanced, and clean for its price, it guarantees a premium experience without primary defects or taste flaws.
Brazil, responsible for almost 40% of global coffee production, embraces diverse qualities. Mechanized harvesting dominates due to the flat landscape and high minimum wages. Today's harvesters selectively pick fully ripe cherries, a boon for specialty producers. Innovative techniques like the derriçadeira, a mechanized rake, enhance efficiency, capturing ripe cherries under tarps. This selective approach fosters a growing commitment to cup quality among Brazilian coffee farms.
Espirito Santo, São Paulo, Minas Gerais, and Bahia dominate Brazil's coffee map. Large farms, geared for maximum productivity, utilize advanced mechanization. The landscape's flatness and high wages favor this approach over hand-picking. Brazil's coffee spectrum ranges from natural Robusta to the distinctive Rio Minas 17/18. Recent years have witnessed increased investments in specialty coffee production, expanding our offerings from macro-lots to micro-lots through in-country partners like our sister company. Brazil's coffee story unfolds in Espirito Santo, São Paulo, Minas Gerais, and Bahia, where tradition and innovation converge, delivering diverse and exceptional coffee experiences.
